On September 14, the farewell ceremony for the recruits of Shenzhen University in the second half of 2024 was held at the Alumni Square of the Guangdong Campus. Professor Wang Yongcheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shenzhen University, Chen Yunfei, Director of the Armed Forces Department of the Party Committee, Chen Fangming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our college, all counselors, class teachers of enlisted students, a team of veteran students, and more than 60 student representatives attended the ceremony.

Among the 13 recruits who enlisted this time, 8 of them are from the School of Physical Education, and they will serve in different units. At the ceremony, five veterans from the School of Physical Education performed a wonderful demonstration of reverse skills and fighting skills, showing the spirit and strength of modern college students.

After the ceremony, Deputy Secretary Chen Fangming, on behalf of the college, presented the backpacks of Shenzhen University as souvenirs to the eight students who enlisted in the army, hoping that the students would shoulder their responsibilities, keep in mind the motto of Shenzhen University, live up to their enthusiasm, and win glory for their alma mater.

National defense education and propaganda work for joining the army have always been one of the core tasks of the ideological and political work of the Institute of Physical Education. In the past five years, more than 70 students and graduates of our college have enlisted in the army, and the enlistment carries the spiritual inheritance of the college. In the future, the Institute of Physical Education will continue to take national defense education as the starting point, promote ideological and political education, and encourage young students to contribute to the dream of strengthening the army and Chinese dream.
