From November 15 to 17, the 2024 Cross-Straits and Hong Kong and Macao Regatta was held in Dapeng, Shenzhen. The competition is sponsored by Dapeng New District Administrative Committee, supported by Taiwan Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, and Shenzhen Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film, Tourism and Sports. A total of 136 competitors from both sides of the Taiwan Straits and Hong Kong and Macao sailed Beneteau 40.7, Fai 28R and Fai 23R in three days of competition.

In this competition, the sailing team of the Sports College of Shenzhen University, as the first university student sailing team in Shenzhen, shone brightly in this competition. The team consists of Zhang Jicheng (captain), Wu Shan (hand), Zhuang Bei (helmsman), Xie Fan (front deck) four elite students from leisure sports (leisure tourism). They not only strictly abide by the foreign affairs discipline, unified action, listen to the arrangement of the organizing committee, respect the referee, but also show the style of deep college students with a spirited spirit, and won wide praise from the event organizers and participating teams.

During the competition, the students of the sailing team of the Sports College of Shenzhen University not only learned advanced experience in event organization, sailing theory knowledge and training methods, but also tempered the quality of will in practice and improved the ability of teamwork.
