To commend those who have advanced and set examples, and to motivate a broad range of officials and the public to make achievements in the new era and to forge ahead on a new journey, the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, the Ministry of Education, and the State General Administration of Sport have decided to honor a group of collectives and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the bidding, preparation, and organization of the 31st World University Summer Games. Shenzhen University’s School of Physical Education has been awarded as an Advanced Collective at the 31st World University Summer Games, and Teacher Tang Yucheng and undergraduate student Lin Tao from the School of Physical Education have been recognized as Advanced Individuals.

The 31st World University Summer Games is the first international sports event held by our country following the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and it is also the first large-scale comprehensive international sports event held in the western region. Delegations from 113 countries (regions) and more than 6,500 athletes participated in the competition.

Shenzhen University’s School of Physical Education has made active efforts in various aspects of this edition of the World University Summer Games, including torch relay, academic conferences, and the selection of athletes and staff, making a positive contribution to the successful hosting of the Games. A total of 8 athletes participated in the swimming events of this Universiade, winning 5 gold medals and breaking 4 world university meet records.
