From July 28 to 31, 2025, the 11th Macao International Wushu Festival and Macao International Martial Arts Competition was successfully held at the Macao Forum. The event was supported by the Sports Bureau and the Macao Government Tourism Office of the Macao Special Administrative Region, organized by the Macao Chinese Traditional Sports Association and the Macao Civil Servants Sports Association, and co-organized by Zhuhai Zhongfu Sports Culture Communication Co., Ltd. Over 1,300 martial arts athletes gathered to exchange skills and foster friendships through martial arts. As an important international martial arts exchange event in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, this competition brought together martial arts athletes from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Russia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, Thailand, Japan, and other countries and regions. More than 140 teams competed in various events, including Wushu routines, Sanda, Chinese short weapon, Health Qigong, Tai Chi Push Hands, Chinese wrestling, as well as Karate, Taekwondo, and freestyle combat.
The Shenzhen University Wushu Team was invited to participate in the competition. Four team members won a total of five gold, two silver, and one bronze medals: Prunus salicina Yidan won gold in Women's Compulsory Changquan and Women's Compulsory Broadsword, Themeda villosa Yixuan won gold in Women's Tai Chi and silver in Women's Traditional Northern Style Weapon, Yang Tianzhi won gold in Men's Compulsory Changquan and silver in Men's Optional Broadsword, and Huang Jiaxing won gold in Compulsory Tai Chi and bronze in Men's Tai Chi Short Weapon. Yang Tianzhi was awarded the title of "Outstanding Athlete," and the Shenzhen University Wushu Team received the "Outstanding Team" award.
