On the morning of May 6, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., the grand send-off ceremony for Shenzhen University's delegation to the 12th Guangdong Provincial University Games was solemnly held at the Huixing Building of Shenzhen University.Shenzhen University Vice President Chao Naipeng, School of Physical Education Party Committee Secretary Li Zhijun, School of Physical Education Dean Liu Jian, School of Physical Education Vice Deans Zhang Debao, Wang Dong, and Tang Yucheng, Director of the School of Physical Education's Competition and Training Management Office Deng Wanjin, team leaders, coaches, athletes, and staff members from the delegation—a total of over 300 people—attended the meeting.


The conference commenced solemnly with the national anthem. First, Zhang Debao, Vice Dean of the School of Physical Education, delivered a detailed report on the preparation efforts: Based on the preliminary results of last year's Guangdong Provincial University Games and the actual conditions of our university's athletic teams, and in accordance with the requirements of the Provincial Department of Education, Shenzhen University has formed a delegation for this year's competition consisting of 233 athletes, 36 coaches, and 11 staff members, competing in 10 major events, including basketball, football, and track and field. This marks the first participation since the establishment of the School of Physical Education, with the largest delegation in the university's history.

Shenzhen University Vice President Chao Naipeng delivered a motivational speech, emphasizing that the Guangdong Provincial University Games serve as a crucial platform to showcase the university's sporting spirit and educational achievements. He urged the delegation members to "fight for honor, for growth, and for conviction," calling on all participants to compete with scientific strategy, unity, and respect for the rules, demonstrating the vision and vigor of students from the Special Economic Zone. He also expressed his ardent hope that the delegation would achieve outstanding results and return triumphantly!
The conference featured a solemn flag presentation ceremony, with Vice President Chao Naipeng personally awarding the delegation flag to Professor Liu Jian, Dean of the School of Physical Education. To fully leverage the vanguard role of grassroots Party organizations and Party-member cadres, and to strengthen Party-building leadership and core cohesion during the over-month-long competition period, the School of Physical Education Party Committee established a provisional Party branch for the University Games. Li Zhijun, Secretary of the School's Party Committee, presented the provisional branch flag to Professor Deng Wanjin, appointed secretary of the provisional branch. Coach representative Liang Yuan led all coaches in taking an oath, pledging to provide professional guidance and safeguard athletes' competitive efforts. Athlete representative Zhan Wenqin delivered a resolute vow, swearing to fight in Shenzhen University's name for decisive victory, outstanding achievements, and glory for the university!
