School of Physical Education of Shenzhen University is the only professional college of physical education for undergraduate students in Shenzhen. Its undergraduate education began in 2007, and it has trained more than 500 primary and secondary school PE teachers. Its golf College is the only public college in China that trains golf professionals for undergraduate courses. It is now positioned as a high-level, modern professional sports college based on sports training and physical health teaching and research, rooted in Shenzhen, based on the Bay Area, and benchmarking the international.

The College consists of four teaching units: Golf College, Physical Education Department, sports Training Department and Leisure Tourism Department. It includes one master's program in physical education, one master's program in cooperative education, one key research base of the Sports Development Center of the State General Administration of Sport, one Demonstration Center for Teaching experiments in Guangdong Province (Experimental Center for Sports Training and Health Teaching), and one physical health testing center for college students. It has three undergraduate majors, including physical education, sports training and leisure sports (golf and leisure tourism), among which physical education is a first-class undergraduate professional construction point in Guangdong Province.

By the end of November 2023, the college has 104 teachers, including 86 full-time teachers, 9 professors, 22 associate professors, 17 assistant professors and 38 lecturers. There are 2 doctoral supervisors and 33 master supervisors; 40 Ph. D. degree holders, 2 world-class athletes; 12 national athletes; One international referee and eight national judges.

In the past three years, 74 scientific research projects have been undertaken, including 50 vertical projects and 24 horizontal projects, including 2 national Social science fund projects, 20 provincial and ministerial projects, and 21 municipal projects. (By the end of October 2023)

In the 2023 Soft Science China Best Discipline ranking: Shenzhen University sports discipline ranked top 20% in the country, ranked 6th in non-normal comprehensive colleges and universities, and ranked 3rd in Guangdong Province (the national ranking does not include universities in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).

Since its establishment, our sports school has trained a total of 15 world champions (8 present enrolled students) and won 36 world championship titles. Our students won 3 gold and 2 silver medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 5 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, and 5 gold and 1 bronze medal at the 31st World University Games in 2022. Our school demonstrates excellence in four high-level sports teams - table tennis, golf, swimming, and chess - when compared to other universities in China. In addition, our school has more than ten other sports teams - such as track and field, basketball, shuttlecock, fencing, and jump rope - that have also achieved remarkable results.

Our sports teaching venues are abundant in number, with advanced facilities and an elegant environment, which can carry out complete sports activities including athletics, football, basketball, bowling, table tennis, tennis, swimming, golf, volleyball, badminton, squash, yoga, gymnastics, tai chi, physical dance, Taekwondo and so on. These venues are mainly located in two campuses, Yuehai and Lihu, with a total area of 131,343 square meters. Yuehai Campus has facilities: Yuanping Gymnasium (2,000 square meters), track and field (30,000 square meters), small arena (5,000 square meters), new swimming pool, golf practice area (8,000 square meters), sports plaza (6,700 square meters), seaside court (13,000 square meters) and seaside swimming pool, etc. Lihu Campus has facilities: Zhichang Gymnasium (17,799.23 square meters), Zhikuai Sports Stadium (2,946.79 square meters), Zhikuai Gymnasium (9,941 square meters), Wind and Rain playground (3,205 square meters), swimming pool.
